BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a EHS&S Manager at our SLP Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the EHS&S Manager will be primarily responsible for leading the safety, health and environment programs, policies and initiatives in the PDS SLP manufacturing plants. The primary responsibilities of this position is to recognize, assess, and control potential risk exposures associated with EHS & S activities and to achieve continuous improvement and sustained performance in all areas of EHS & S.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide leadership to implement consistent EHS & S systems, including control designs, methods, procedures, and programs.
Manage, advise and implement / update these systems in all manufacturing operations, based on compliance with corporate standards, government regulations and lessons learned.
Measure, audit, and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS & S management systems and programs using existing BorgWarner tools and programs. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas Industrial safety and hygiene, occupational health and environmental management system, asset safety (C-TPAT), ergonomics, fire systems and the Global Star Safety Framework.
Risk assessment and job design.
Facilities and asset security.
Establish and maintain a culture of integrity, credibility and responsibility within the EHS & S function.
Be a link in the application of EHS & S corporate initiatives.
Prepare the budget related to the service and supply of EHS & S.
Promote actions to take advantage of cost reductions through the consolidation of service providers (doctors, legal consultants, etc.) and standardize supplies (EPP, doctors, etc.).
Identify the need to design and build EHS & S training programs and provide education to all internal clients.
Support, train, guide and establish professional development plans for their staff in charge.
Manage internal (including all management) and external relationships (government agencies, consultants, insurers, legal, industrial parks, neighbors, etc.) as necessary.
Maintain a cutting edge knowledge of internal and external regulations, practices, tools, processes and communicate these best practices to the organization.
Qualifications
Schooling Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably Master’s degree.
Experience time in a similar position 10 years or more of experience with increasing responsibility.
Required technical knowledge 5 years or more as EHS & S manager, strong understanding of EHS & S practices, NOM’s regulations.
Other requirements It is essential to have the ability to lead a team and provide direction and leadership.
